My name is David Youhas. By day I work as a passenger elevator mechanic. About 20 years ago I built a 5 story elevator out of wood and a windshield wiper motor. After getting into 3D printing plastic recently I

realized I could do some incredible and fascinating cool things on a precise micro scale and go far beyond my previous elevator. This elevator includes a worm gear machine, real working doors and a multi speed door operator... and so much more! On the horizon is a phone app to control the elevator and some advanced elevator functions like fire service and door obstruction photo eyes.

I have happily gone

off the deep end with 3D printing for a hobbyist. I also C.A.D. design for others, print products and sell things. During the initial 2020 Covid wave of shortages I had my printers running 24 hours a day printing personal protective equipment and donated everything to those in need including nursing homes, assisted living, hospitals, doctors, police, fire department, nurses and first responders around the USA. Presently I have 23 printers and adult kids that are concerned I need an intervention. I have always loved to create, imagine, and dream into existence what seems impossible. #3dprintedelevator
